Learn more about the significance of Castle Rushen Castle by walking across the drawbridge and looking out for the murder holes in the Inner Gatehouse. Investigate how Bishop Wilson lived in his prison cell. Look for the castle guards in their vaulted rooms and greet Lord Stanley in his 16th Century Presence Chamber. Look out for the banquet in the 17th Century dining room and a tour of the medieval kitchen. • Children will be able to learn more about the history of Castle Rushen and will have an opportunity to ask our site staff lots of questions. Children will be encouraged to take an interactive approach to their learning. This visit will increase their self led discovery to help them understand more about the changing use of the Castle over the last few centuries. • This visit will inspire children to think more about Manx heritage and the military history of the Isle of Man.
