- Grove Museum Andreas Road, Ramsey
The Grove Museum building was built by the Gibbs, a wealthy merchant family from Liverpool, as their summer retreat. The house provides a real insight for children to learn more about the lives of this family from Victorian times to the 20th Century, including a look at Victorian furniture, fashion and fineries. Children will be given an opportunity to learn about the beehives and honey production at the Grove together with looking at farm equipment including a horse drawn threshing mill. Children will be able to learn more about how a Victorian family lived at the Grove. Children will be encouraged to think more about the culture of the Isle of Man and how life has changed over time. The visit will increase their self-led discovery to help them learn more about the rich history that makes the Isle of Man unique.
